Wildwood
Rustic Furnishings of Minnesota
was established by Duane Shoup in 1979.
Duane produces one-of-a-kind rustic furniture with a natural
appeal. He is a highly skilled craftsman influenced by Adirondack,
Shaker, and Mission Style wood furniture.
His inspirations come from nature and other artisans such as Sam Maloof,
George Nakashima, and Daniel Mack.
Duane's rustic furniture studio and lumber mill is ideally located in
Minnesota's north woods near Itasca State Park.
|
|
Duane creates rustic wood furniture such as
rocking chairs, tables, dining room sets, computer desks, beds,
bookcases, and deck furniture.
He specializes in design with one-of-a-kind wood that only nature
creates. Each piece of log, twig, or bentwood furniture uses lumber hand
selected from Minnesota
forests. Duane uses renewable wood (oak, ash, cherry, walnut, maple,
pine) as well as downed woods with
beautiful spalting -- featuring color and figured grain
that only nature can produce.
Every piece if wood is hand-selected then processed
in Duane's own lumber mill. He has complete control
of the quality from the forest to the final form.

If
you can imagine it
Duane can create it!
Wildwood Rustic Furnishings builds custom furniture from
your favorite wood. A basic sketch with dimensions is needed to
begin
the design process.
Call or visit the studio and brainstorm with Duane to create a unique
piece destined to become a family heirloom. Each commissioned piece of
furniture is a partnership effort.
You choose the size, style, and wood. Duane provides the artistic eye
and skill to create your unique piece of quality rustic furniture. |
Wildwood
Rustic Furnishings has been featured in Log Home Design Ideas and
Lakes Alive magazines. Duane's work is also featured in a chapter in Renewing
the Countryside
published by the Institute for Agriculture and Trade policy and the Great Plains
Institute for
Sustainable Development and the University of Minnesota.
